Toby Tucker: Keeping Sneaky Secrets by Val Wilding

This is a very funny book. I really liked Nasty the chicken because he always attacks Seti and doesn't attack anyone else. I really enjoyed reading it.

I loved this book, I really liked the crazy chicken and the way it was always going after Toby. It was very funny.

This book is excellent because it is funny. I don't think that this book is believable. My favourite character is Nasty the chicken because it attacks Seti.

This is a good book about an adopted boy called Toby who goes back to Ancient Egypt. I liked this book because the author has used real information about Ancient Egypt to make the story believable. It was a bit confusing at first but the more I read the more I understood.

This story is funny and mysterious. I liked the main character Toby because he went back in time to Ancient Egypt and I would like to do that too.

Neil, Dochgarroch Primary

It was quite a good read. Time travelling characters made this book difficult to understand. I had to keep backtracking frequently to remind myself about who was who. The places seemed real but the way the characters flicked from time to time made this book weird and the story line was boring.

I liked that it was set in Egypt but apart from that it was a bit boring.

Great book and I enjoyed the fact he went to Egypt! Could have made up a better character though.

The Book Toby Tucker has a great storyline and I enjoyed the setting which was in ancient Egyptian times. I like the idea that Toby is an orphan who gets a chest with paper in it and a photo. When he pieces the paper together he goes back in time and becomes his own ancestor. Toby Tucker is a really good book and I would like to read other books from the series.

Not only does this book disobey the stereotype of boys loving football and hating school but it leaves you itching for more. This entry in the Toby Tucker series will make you, as it has made me, want to read the rest of the books that feature the time-travelling kid.
The writing style and language are great and Seti's endless scrapes with grumpy chicken Nasty will give you 100 % guaranteed out-loud laughs!

Milo, Dochgarroch Primary

Hmmmm. Keeping Sneaky Secrets is a good read, albeit a bit small, but has a good plot that keeps the story running. However, in the middle of the book, you can get a bit lost, it is very confusing. It has good characters, and this is one of the great points of the book, as well as the facts about Ancient Egyptian life.
