Dragonsdale by Salamanda Drake

This is one of the best books I have ever read. It is fantastic, funny and one of those books you can hardly bare to close. My favourite character is Cara because she is clever and is a good liar. I think Salamanda Drake is an excellent writer.

The story follows the adventures of Cara who works at the titular dragon farm. Despite the slow ""dragon showing"" in some early chapters (before and after the showing has happened) the book is consistent and enjoyable.

Great characters and very descriptive language, this book pulls you into it. My favourite character is Cara as she will go to any lengths to do what she believes is right. This book has a fantastic storyline and has made a great read for me and I would strongly recommend this book to people who want an enjoyable time reading.

It was a very good, enjoyable book. Feels like you are inside the book yourself. The characters are believable. I like the mythical theme.

I really like the characters and the setting felt very real. This is a gripping and spectacular book and an excellent use of words. This story is good for 8 to 88 year olds.

This is a very funny read by a brilliant new author. It follows a fantasy story about dragons set on a mythical island. At first I was put off reading this book because the cover looked a bit childish, but after the first chapter, I knew this novel was great. The characters were very lifelike and vivid, the sixteen-year-old author portrayed emotions very well, and I could just picture the scenes in the books. The illustrations were a bit strange, however, but that is probably the only thing I could be critical about! Fantastic similes were definitely in use, and the writer certainly didn’t lack descriptive verbs. The world the book is set in is so like our own, yet so different and wonderful. I would place this book in the age group of nines or tens, but this book could suit so many ages. Something else this book was remarkable for was its originality, which is hard to get in many fantasy books about mythical creatures. If you want to escape into an excellent magic book and not come out for a long time, then I think you would enjoy this book immensely. I can't wait for a sequel!
